How to be or become happy with education? The only way people will be happy with education is if they learn the way they like, and learn the most. Everyone has a different way in which they learn more and the most depending on your personality and the things the you like to do. But this is about how I would be happier in education and how to match it to who i am. I will happier if teachers taught the way that I learn the most and that's less reading for homework and more reading in class. I'm not the reader type of person I do read but I only get into it if the subject is interesting and sometimes reading homework can be really bored.
First of all i need to find out the things I like the most and how my personality will match a perfect education. Do I like to seat there in a chair for over an hour and just listen to to the profession. I can do it and i dont ind it but the professor has to make it interesting so that students wont get bored seating there. Class activities is a real plus, let students interact with each others and shared their own ideas. Group work is a better way of learning than individual work they shared ideas and comments between each other something that you dont do when you work by yourself you get stock with ideas that you are not sure about. Also watching videos is pretty interesting but I mean interesting videos not old school bored videos. Sometimes a lot of reading is assigned and it could be too much for homework, it will make me happier if instead of having to read all that by yourself will be better if some reading is also do in class this will be a good time to talk about the reading and shared some ideas so that the reading wont be too hard to understand. Making my own personal goals and connecting them with school and achieving them will keep me motivated to keep going. Even thought I already have some important reasons to finish college and graduated with a degree. Coming from a low class family is not easy at all but if you make the right choices in life and dont ever give up there will be nothing that you cant do or achieve.
Therefore it wont be so hard to match my education to who i am it will most likely be up to the teacher and the way that they teach. I dont have anything against school to me a great choice out there for everybody is never to late, unless your already real old. But education is out there for you to offer you a new way of life something that will make you and family happier. It can not always be fun but if you match the way you are and a way of learning that will fit you wont be as bored as you think anymore.
Hey Tonny,
ReplyDeleteGood job on the Happiness in Education blog! I feel I can relate to you a little. I totally agree with you on the part you said about reading in general. Personally I don't like reading much either, unless I too find the subject interesting. I feel your strong in the area of expressing your feelings. You can work on grammar and run on sentences. You should Incorporate some ideas from topics discussed in the article entitled "Happiness in Education" and Sir Ken Robinson video. I'll give you an example of a topic from the article that you could expand on in your blog. Add the part about the study of the class of 1930's, and express your opinion on it. That would be a perfect topic for you! Once again nice job, and thanks for sharing your blog Tonny.
Hey Tonny. I find your essay really interesting and in some ways i can relate. With I was in high school I found school to be boring because of how they taught the subject. I'm not much of a reader either and that something I like about your essay, its something I can relate as well. The only things I have to say is to work on your grammatical errors i suggest you reread carefully and check for those small mistakes. Other then that I really enjoyed your essay.
ReplyDeleteI made the same point in my essay, about how I enjoy working in groups. I think that it's good to listen to the ideas of your peers. Honestly, aside from your professors, you can also learn a lot from your fellow classmates. I liked your views on how you think you would be more comfortable learning. You should try to compare them to some of your ideas to those from the videos and the reading. Also, you should just double check for grammar errors. Besides that, I really liked your essay.
ReplyDeleteI saw a couple of misspelled words in the essay but this can all be fixed. I relate to the statement you made about not being too much of a reader at home. I like to read but not when it's an assigned book and especially not at home. I would like to hear how you can relate to the text. A couple of quotes from the passage would have made your paper even better. I like how you kept talking about things that would make you happier when it comes to education, it was very well rounded and put together.
ReplyDeletei relate to you talking about how teachers need to try to teach the way we would understand better. every student is different & i think that was a big point in your essay. you didnt reference the reading or the video, but I think you made a good point. I also think it was very clear and easy to follow. i enjoyed reading it, there was a couple of grammar errors, but nothing serious. i make the same errors all the time!
ReplyDeletehello everyone,
ReplyDeletethanks for commenting on my blog, i now see my errors but Ill try my best and work on on them. Also i forgot to compared my blog to the article or any of the videos, but i was to into how teachers should make class more interesting. xD
Hi Tonny,
ReplyDeleteThis essay was pretty well organized. You could break up the middle paragraph into several smaller ones. There are a lot of grammar and usage errors to work on (E111 - the Writing Center - is an excellent resource).
In terms of the content, I wanted to hear what YOU WOULD CHANGE in terms of your own attitude or behaviors or choices. Of course, teachers and schools could stand some upgrades too, but the assignment was to focus on YOU!
